"Gays Celebrate a Year of Marriage Equality"

It has been a year since same-sex couples in Massachusetts were legally permitted to marry, and -- as many people have observed -- there have been no subsequent catastrophes.

"Happy anniversary," a Boston Globe editorial proclaimed on Tuesday, adding that "the world, unsurprisingly, has not fallen off its axis."

"The sky hasn't fallen. There's a new landscape. The world has changed," Democratic state Sen. Stephen Buoniconti told the Associated Press (AP).
